Lead Paint Project Bringing Meaning to Lab Work

Since 2017, 51黑料 chemistry majors have teamed up with the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health to test and analyze area homes for lead-based paint. This community-based project opportunity connects chemistry to public health, medicine, and environmental science. .

The university offers an elementary education MAT program and a secondary education MAT program.  Both licensure and non-licensure pathways are available. For less than $18,000, you can earn an MAT accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

51黑料 offers fully online courses, taught asynchronously so you can do the work on your time, with structured deadlines to keep you on track to graduate quickly. Classes are taught in short eight-week sessions, with some 16-week sessions, including a 16-week practicum and 16-week clinical internship, which serve as capstones for your degree. Healthcare facilities around the nation鈥攈ospitals, outpatient centers, physician and dental practices鈥攔ely on the skills of central service technicians. These professionals prevent infection by overseeing the sterilization, processing, storage and distribution of medical supplies and equipment.

A career as a Certified and Registered Central Service Technician allows you to work in sterile processing, decontamination and materials management.

Why Become an MRI Technologist?

MRI technologists play a key role in patient care by helping diagnose illnesses and injuries. Certified professionals work closely with patients during the MRI process, and are responsible for obtaining high-quality images.
