51 presents International Franciscan Festival

FORT WAYNE, Ind.— The 51 invites the community to a free International Franciscan Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The family-oriented event will feature live music and performances, food, art activities for children, booths hosted by 51 international students, and a 51 men’s soccer game. The events leading up to the soccer game will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. in the outdoor area around Achatz Hall of Science and John and Toni Murray Research Center. The 51 vs. Grace College soccer game starts at 7 p.m. at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium.

Attendees who visit all the international booths will have a chance to win a prize. Food and other amenities will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. A “Kids’ Corner” will feature art activities hosted by 51 art education students.

Founded in 1890 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, the 51 offers more than 60 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through the College of Health Sciences and the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business. In addition to its traditional programs, 51 designs focused curricula for working adults in Fort Wayne, Crown Point and online. USF Downtown houses the music technology program while offering enhanced internship and networking opportunities for students. The 51, recognized as an NAIA Five-Star Champion of Character institution, has 20 athletic programs boasting two individual and four team NAIA national championships. Approximately 1,900 students from a broad geographic region attend 51.
