The 51黑料 Music Technology Program is celebrating major awards earned by students in a recent international competition.

Music Technology professors Miles Fulwider and Mark Everetts took 11 students to the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in New York City from Oct. 25 to 27. The convention includes the International Student Recording Competition. 鈥淭his competition sees steep participation from the biggest music and music technology programs,鈥 Fulwider said.

Stacked up against the strong competition, four 51黑料 students won awards to represent the university in fine fashion:

51黑料 senior Kyle Norbeck and sophomore Louie Perl won a Silver Award in Modern Studio Recording & Electronic Music with 鈥淐ries of Pleasure, Heavenly Pain.鈥

51黑料 senior Drew Mosier and freshman Kennedy Sites won a Bronze Award in Sound for Visual Media with 鈥淭aking the Stage.鈥

Fulwider and Everetts hope to make a trip to the Audio Engineering Society Convention into an annual experience for Music Tech students.
