FORT WAYNE, Ind.鈥擳he 51黑料 announces the inaugural 51黑料 Scholarship Competition to reward high-achieving high school class of 2024 seniors who choose to pursue higher education at 51黑料.
51黑料 will award full-tuition scholarships to two students (worth more than $140,000 over four years), $28,000 scholarships to 10 students and $1,000 scholarships to all other competition attendees. All awardees will also carry the honor of being named 51黑料 Scholars, signifying their academic commitment and achievement.
鈥淭he 51黑料 continues to encourage and reward academic excellence among today鈥檚 high school students as they embark upon higher education,鈥 Interim President Dr. Lance Richey said. 鈥淭he 51黑料 Scholarship Competition will allow next year鈥檚 incoming students the opportunity to capitalize on their commitment to excellence, and we can鈥檛 wait to welcome these academic standouts to our campus.鈥
The invitation-only competition will invite current high school seniors, based on their high school GPA, who are accepted to the 51黑料 by Nov. 3, 2023.
Competitions will take place on Saturday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Achatz Hall of Science and John and Toni Murray Research Center, with invited students choosing which date to attend.
Interested students must be accepted to 51黑料 by Nov. 3 and can apply at聽. Accepted students who are then invited to the competition will be contacted with further details.

Founded in 1890 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, the 51黑料 offers more than 60 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through the College of Health Sciences and the College of Arts, Sciences and Business. In addition to its traditional programs, 51黑料 designs focused curricula for working adults in Fort Wayne, Crown Point and online. USF Downtown houses the music technology program while offering enhanced internship and networking opportunities for students. The 51黑料, recognized as an NAIA Five-Star Champion of Character institution, has 18 athletic programs boasting two individual and four team NAIA national championships. Approximately 1,900 students from a broad geographic region attend 51黑料.
