STAR Bank commits $120,000 to 51黑料

FORT WAYNE, Ind. 鈥 The 51黑料 is pleased to announce a $120,000 donation from longtime supporter STAR Bank.

STAR Bank officially presented its donation to the USF Achatz Hall of Science and Research Center in a ceremony Wednesday, June 5 at the campus, 2701 Spring St. The donation will be used for the Achatz Hall observation terrace, and the terrace will be named the STAR Bank Observation Terrace.

鈥淪TAR Bank has been a generous, longtime supporter of USF,鈥 said USF President Sister M. Elise Kriss. 鈥淲e value our relationship and are very grateful it will continue. In addition to working together with USF on student-focused endeavors, STAR Bank has employed many talented USF alumni at its successful organization over the years.鈥

The 51黑料 and STAR Bank believe in the value of local organizations working together for the good of the community. Their common goals were previously demonstrated when STAR Bank donated the trading center room at the USF Business Center downtown. STAR Financial Bank Chairman and CEO Jim Marcuccilli and STAR Financial Group Chairman Tom Marcuccilli were subsequently honored for their generosity to the school with a Bonzel Society of Lifetime Giving medal, presented by USF President Sister M. Elise Kriss in 2017.

鈥淓ducation, economic development, and the arts have long remained STAR鈥檚 philanthropic giving pillars. The 51黑料 aligns quite perfectly with all of these giving pillars, and we are proud to support the STAR Bank Observation Terrace, an asset that students, and the community, will all be able to enjoy for decades,鈥 said STAR Financial Group Chairman Tom Marcuccilli.
