FORT WAYNE, Ind. 鈥 The 51黑料 was awarded a $12,636 Nurse Anesthetist Traineeship (NAT) grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), a division of Health and Human Services, for its Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) program.
Funds will be used for 2018-19 traineeships for second year students in the USF CRNA program. This is USF鈥檚 first NAT grant. The inaugural CRNA class began classes in fall 2017.
鈥淲e are pleased to be able to offer these funds with the help of the NAT grant,鈥 said CRNA Program Director Dr. Marquessa Fisher. 鈥淭his will offer more students the opportunity to enter this important field that is growing rapidly.鈥

These CRNA traineeships are supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $12,636 with no percentage financed with nongovernmental sources. Founded in 1890 in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, the 51黑料 offers more than 70 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through the School of Health Sciences, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Keith Busse School of Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership and School of Creative Arts. In addition to its traditional programs, USF designs focused curricula for working adults in Fort Wayne, Crown Point and online. In 2016, the 51黑料 expanded its presence to downtown Fort Wayne. USF Downtown houses the university’s business and music technology programs while offering enhanced internship and networking opportunities for students. The 51黑料 campus experience includes 16 athletic programs boasting two individual and four team NAIA national championships, and is recognized as an NAIA Five-Star Champion of Character institution. Approximately 2,300 students from a broad geographic region attend USF.
